Information concerning the Dunlap Invitational-

Location: Detweiller Park, Peoria, IL
(Detweiller Park is located on Illinois Route 129)

Directions:
-Take Interstate 55 North to Lincoln, IL
-Take Interstate 155 North from Lincoln, it splits off of 55 to your left (signs will say Peoria)
-Take Interstate 74 west (155 ends) you must take 74 either east or west (Take West)(Signs will say Peoria)
-Drive west on Interstate 74 until you reach Peoria
-Cross the Illinois River
-Exit at Adams St. (Illinois Route 29)
-Drive north on IL.Rt. 29 approx. 5 miles
-The park/course is on the west side/left side of Rt. 129

Schedule
-Dismiss from class at 11:45am (make sure you ask all teachers for missed homework)
-Bus will leave Lincoln at 12:00
-We will stop for lunch at Subway (or bring a sack lunch)
-2:30/3:00 Arrive at course
-3:30pm (course walk)
-4:30pm GIRLS VARSITY RACE (2.1 miles)
-5:00pm BOYS VARSITY RACE (2.1 miles)
-5:30pm (Open Race – girls/boys combined)(2.1 miles)
-6:00pm Awards Ceremony
-6:30pm Leave Course
-Eat at McDonalds/Burger King or Wendys on the ride home
-9:30/9:45 pm Arrive back at Lincoln

Please bring homework, book to read, cold weather clothes, warm weather clothes, rain clothes, water bottle, sports drink, money for lunch/dinner, money for t-shirt (optional)

Location: Bryan Memorial Park (Salem, IL)
Time
Walking preview of the course – 8:30am
Girl’s Junior Varsity Race (1.2 miles) – 9:00am
Boy’s Junior Varsity Race (1.2 miles) following girl’s JV race
Varsity Girl’s Race (1.2 miles)
Varsity Boy’s Race (1.8 miles)
Open boys and girls race (1.2 miles)

Bus Departure: 6:45am (Please be at the middle school at 6:30am)

We should be back at Lincoln around 2:30pm. (approx.)

Please bring money for McDonalds, we will be stopping on the ride home.

Directions

-Take Interstate 270 east to Interstate 70
-Take Interstate 70 east to Illinois Route 4 (Lebanon exit)(exit #21)
-Take Illinois Route 4 south to Lebanon, IL
-At the first four-way stop in Lebanon, take a left (this is U.S. Route 50)
-Take U.S. Route 50 east to Salem, IL
-Once in Salem, take a left on Illinois Route 37 (N.Broadway Street)
-Travel north on N. Broadway (IL Route 37)
-The park will be on your left across the street from Salem High School

• Cars that park in the race area will not be allowed to leave until all races are completed.
• Parking outside the race area is available near the swimming pool and tennis courts.
