Directions to Jacksonville

-Take Illinois 159 to Bunker Hill, IL.
-Go through Bunker Hill and look for Illinois Route 16.
-Take a left on to Route 16 (you are heading west now).
-Go through the tiny towns of Shipman and Piasa.
-Just past Piasa you will see a four way stop-take a right here, this should be Route 267.
-Route 267 will take you north through the town of Greenfield and then straight to Jacksonville.
-Head into town when arriving in Jacksonville.
-The meet is at the city park it is the first large park you encounter.
-It will be on your left.
-There is a ferris wheel on the north side of the park, if you see this on your left- you have just driven by the park.

Sectional

The IESA Sectional scheduled for October 7 will be held at our home course.
The Girls Varsity Race is slated to start at 3:00 p.m.
The Boys Varsity Race is start about 30 minutes after the girls race. (approx. 3:30)
Their will be an Open Race this year at the Sectional and it will follow the Boys Race. (approx. 4:00)

Runners should arrive at 1:45 p.m. We are in charge of the course walk and it is scheduled to start at 2:00.

-A plaque shall be awarded to the first and second place teams at the Sectional.
-Individual ribbons will be presented to the competitors of the first and second place team winners in Sectional competition.
-Ribbons will be presented to the top 10 individuals at the Sectional.

All other runners will run in the open race.

The course is a 6/10 of mile loop. If your race is 1.2 miles you will run the loop 2 times on the second time around you will enter the chute. If you race is 1.8 miles you will run the loop 3 times on the third time around you will enter the chute.

All runners need to run 3 miles on Saturday. 3 miles would be 5 total loops around the course. Your race counts as mileage, depending on your race distance you will need to add either 2 or 3 more laps. Run the extra laps as a cool down after your race.

Location: Detweiller Park, Peoria, IL
(Detweiller Park is located on Illinois Route 129)

Directions:
-Take Interstate 55 North to Lincoln, IL
-Take Interstate 155 North from Lincoln, it splits off of 55 to your left (signs will say Peoria)
-Take Interstate 74 west (155 ends) you must take 74 either east or west (Take West)(Signs will say Peoria)
-Drive west on Interstate 74 until you reach Peoria
-Cross the Illinois River
-Exit at Adams St. (Illinois Route 29)
-Drive north on IL.Rt. 29 approx. 5 miles
-The park/course is on the west side/left side of Rt. 129

-Dismiss from class at 11:45am (make sure you ask all teachers for missed homework)
-Bus will leave Lincoln at 12:00
-We will stop for lunch at Subway (or bring a sack lunch)

-Once in Salem, take a left on Illinois Route 37 (N.Broadway Street)

-The park will be on your left across the street from Salem High School

• Cars that park in the race area will not be allowed to leave until all races are completed.

Directions to Franklin Outing Club

Take I-55 North to Exit 82 onto highway 104 West. Turn right on 104 towards Truck Stop. take 104 West through Auburn and Waverly. Approximately 4 miles West of Waverly, there is an F.S. Plant on the Right Side of the Highway. Turn right and cross the railroad tracks. The course is located approximately a half a mile from the tracks.

- Stay off of the course unless it is your race.

Things that you might want to bring for Franklin
- Homework, a book to read, i-pod or a pillow
- Snacks or lunch (remember do not eat 3 hours before your race)
- Money there will be a concession stand or we may stop on the way back.
- Franklin will also be selling t-shirts for about $12
- Sunscreen
- Towel
- I will have my blue cooler if you want to bring a drink
